Veel emoties, interessante situaties, verschillen, hele bijzondere overeenkomsten…

Heel spannend, emotioneel, confronterend,
avontuurlijk en verrassend!

İnsan Manzaraları / Human Landscapes

Human Landscapes is a  project developed and composed by Selim Doğru, who lives in the Netherlands, in collobration with the succesful trio To be Sung. It is constructed through the poetry of Nazım Hikmet and Judith Herzberg. As an unusual collaboration of literature, theater and music the project will be presented as a theatrical concert.

The Turkish version of Human Landscapes will be
performed by movement theater artist and singer Hazal Selçuk from Istanbul and six soloist musicians who all live in Holland: the trio To be Sung and guest musicians: Oğuz Büyükberber, Enric Monfort, Jelte van Andel.

Judith Herzberg one of the prominent poets of Holland was born in Amsterdam in 1934. During World War II when her parents were sent to concentration camp she was protected by a Dutch family. In her poetry there is not only the witnessing of that excruciating period but also the witnessing of the periods after the war. Like Nazım Hikmet,  war and political storms have left deep traces in her.

Human Landscapes is built on poetry of these two important poets as a journey into the innerworld of people. People are being united by those emotional similiaraties no matter where they are in the world. The performance therefore doesn’t necessarily focus on political, sociological or philosophical  thoughts or events but on people and their deepest emotions.

The unique musical fusion by Selim Doğru of contemporary
classical music, jazz and Turkish music along with unusual use of poetry with Hazal Selçuk’s interpretation, Human Landscapes promises a unique experience for the audience.
